I am getting 'Internet Explorer Script Error' messages when I view certain
posts in IMAP newsgroups in Windows Mail.
I have enabled 'Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)' and 'Disable
script debugging (Other)' and disabled 'Display a notification about every
script error' in Internet Explorer but the errors in Windows Mail continue.
I would like to 'repair' Windows Mail, have it reinstall itself to see if I
can get it to pay attention to the settings I've made in Internet Explorer.
There is no entry in the Control Panel to 'repair'. What can I do to force
a reinstall of Windows Mail?

Put WinMail into the Internet Zone.

Thanks, it already is. Windows Mail is just being funky, for instance, I
have it set to apply a signature to all outgoing mail and replies but it
will only apply signatures to original posts or emails
so..................really feel I need to 'repair' by reinstalling somehow

I should have said put it into the Restricted Zone.
You can't reinstall WM on its own, it is part of the OS.

Thanks very much, that did it; didn't fix the signature problem but the
script error was more irritating.
Put me on the list of folks who would like to have a 'repair' feature for
Windows Mail in Vista

OK, so tried that and whatever came up sure didn't look good to me.
Preparing for a trip and don't have time to learn a new mail program so that
will just have to wait. Besides it killed Windows Mail and I'm really not a
fan of web-only interfaces...........

The best 'repair' for WM is an upgrade to WLM:

Karen, just to be sure that you have the Sig setting correct, only the top 1
of the 2 include options should be selected, the 2nd one says 'Don't?
If you are set correctly, change them around and try to give the registry
entry a kick in the pants, even resort to a reboot between changes in the
options?
