I have my computer's hard drive partitioned into a C:\ and D:\ drive. My
windows XP is on the C:\ drive with all my programs, settings, etc. I
installed windows Vista on my D:\. However, the Windows Vista won't
recognize or open any programs on the C:\ drive including stuff like
Microsoft Office. I created a back-up file with XP and restored it in Vista,
but that didn't work. Is there anything else I can do for my Windows on my
D:\ drive to recognize the Program Files of the C:\

You will have to install your programs into Vista.

How do you do this without the cd? I copied some of the .dll files from my
C:\ system 32 folder to my D:\ system 32 folder. This cured some programs,
but not microsoft office. Office 2003 came on the computer so I don't have
the cd with me. It says my operating system isnt configured to run that
program. I tried pasting the office folder in the program files under D:\
but that didnt work.
