I use wopti ultilities. It's a great program and i got a better
performance of my computer but...i used the built in defrag utility and
this is what happend:
On my C: partition that is about 54 GB i had 24 GB free. When i used
defrag, suddenly have 300MB free and when i analized it was hugely
fragmented, and i get the messege of low disk space. I used windows
defrag and some other third party defrag but non help. Pls i need help
how to fix the problem. Restore donn't work because it says i have low
disk space!!
So to sumraize... i had 24 gb free, now i have 300mb free and a badly
fragmented disk after using wopti build in defrag...non other defrag
help. HOW DO I FIX THIS?!?!?!

Because wopi build in defrag has difficulty processing Vista's system
shadow storage this happens do this:

you can lower unnecessary large system shadow storage by:

Clicking start >> Accessories >>right click on command >>select run as
administrator >> copy and paste this syntax:

C:\Windows\system32\vssadmin resize shadowstorage /On=C: /For=C:
/Maxsize=2GB

your System Restore shadow storage will now be resized to a maximum of
2GB you should see an immediate influx of available space

Check if when Vista resizes the restore size it refragments your drive

Schedule the drive for CHKDSK on a reboot.

Run Vista's disk cleaner after the reboot, or download and run
CCleaner - skipping the registry cleaner part..

Since apparently wopti utilities has only a single version, which according
to their blurb requires only win98 or any other version of win. Then IMO its
not worth installing on either a winnt based system or a Vista system since
both are completely different to win9*, not only in the GUI but how win was
actually coded.
How can anyone expect a utility that runs in win9* to run correctly on a
completely different version of win?
If they produce a version the runs only on Vista then by all means try it,
untill then steer clear.

Well my hard disk wasn't at all fagmented, the reson why it showed so
many fragments was because of a file that wopti maked. Wopti when run by
an administrator still can't make a backup of the registry. When i tryed
to do that it lasted so long i ended it in task manger. But by doing
that wopti made a file that was 19,8GB BIG. When i deleted it my hard
disk wasnt fragmented and now i have my 24GB back. So don't use backup
regestry of wopti use manual, and don't use wopti defrag it messes up
the shadow storage. But still i have to repeat. Wopti is the only
utility that made my computer run faster. It has great cleaners (better
than any i tryed), optimizers (realy speed up) but it has these 2
problems so don't mess with that.
