Post subject: Personal Folders instead of MyDocuments how to use them best
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>file_management (more info?)

Hi all

In XP I had MyDocuments Synchronized onto a fileserver. I now would like to
do the same for Vista. I noticed that there are several Folders that need to
be synchronized.

Contacts
Desktop
Documents
Favorits
Links
Music
Pictures
Saved Games
Searches
Video

I moved every Folder onto the fileserver (Properties->Location->Move...) and
then clicked always available offline. so far so good. But then I got a
desktop.ini file in all the folders and i deleted it and then i got a
$Recylce.Bin...that doesn't look very nice on my desktop and in all the
other folders. How can i avoid that?
another sideffect is that i don't have the nice folder icons for the 10
Folders...after the move they now all look like normal Folders.

thanks for your help
Michael
