In the network map I can see the two computers, the router and the internet
symbol. File and printer sharing is on for both machines but the other
machine which is visable cant be connected to?
Firewall permits file and printer sharing as well.

ipconfig print out below Any suggestions please.

What's the error message? Have you assigned permission or setup the same
username on both computer? Or this search result may help.
Vista cannot access others

There is no error message. I cannot see the other comuter under network. In
the network and sharing centre it shows when I click "view full map" and
placing the mosue over it shows a different Ip address to my computer but if
Iclick it I cant access it.

All the network problems I read is all about the same problem!
The network copy is slow (very), copying files crashes my desktop,
can not connect.
etc.....

I have no sollution, Microsoft Ignores these problems. so here we are "the
user" after more then 20 years of successful networking we have come to the
point that networking with our gigabit lan and 300MB Wifi are copying slower
than the 10baseT time with our netbui and ipx protocols.

I am very displeased how microsoft is failing in bringing a fix for this
issue! I can not backup my data because my system hangs on file copy and
crashes. (my "windows me" was more stable then my vista)

so keep posting your network issues maybe one day a microfot employee will
notice that something is wrong out there!
