Hi to all,

On an HP laptop nw9440 running under Windows Vista Ultimate+SP1 and all
other updates installed.
I can't get the Microsoft Search option to show up in the right part of the
start menu.
All the search items are checked in the properties. I tried to
uncheck/recheck/reboot at no avail.
Does anybody know how to make it work. Tks in advance.

Hello André,

Search was removed from this area with the installation of the SP1.
However, this tutorial will show you how to get it back.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

All you need to do is type in your search criteria
in the "Start Search" box located by clicking on
the blue Vista start button.

If you still wish to add Search to the Start Menu, see:

Hi Carey, hi Shawn,

Gee, I was afraid it was a bug, now thanks to your lead I have to think it
over and make
the trade off. Thank you both.
