Everyday I get this update; Security update for Microsoft XML Core Services
4.0 Service Pack 2 and ever time I install it and the next day the same
thing. It says that the update was installed, but the next day the same
update, what's up with this?

Hello Toopay,
Here is the link for you, including cause and solution.
'Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB936181) may repeatedly appear in the update list on Microsoft Update
or on Windows Update' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941729/en-us)

I, too, have the same problem as the original poster. I went to the link you
listed and tried doing the "command" but was "access is denied" and could not
continue any further. When I originally tried to run the download from the
website...I keep getting error message "error opening installation log file.
Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable". Now
what? Very frustrating

Hello Blusuzz,
Go to Update History and see if that update is in deed installed. If
yes, go to Check for update, right click on KB936181, click HIDE. It
won't appear again.
All times are: Eastern Time (US & Canada) (change)
