Bob,
Thanks for the patch - it works great, sorry for the slow response I
have been out of action for a couple of weeks.

Cheers

Chris

Bob if you are still here.

I'd love to get a copy of the update.. Hp's solutions, seems rather
ineffectual

'HP Photosmart and Officejet All-in-Ones -  Reverse Side of Two-sided
Printout Is Upside Down in Vista '

*Solution*
Follow these steps to install a temporary print
driver for two-sided printing. Use the temporary driver to work around
the issue until HP finds a permanent solution.
*Step
one: Install a temporary print driver*

*NOTE: *
If your product is on a
network, contact your network administrator to perform these steps.

- On the Windows task bar, click the
*Start* icon ([image:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Doc/images/c01319360.gif] ),
click *Control Panel* , and then double-click
*Printers and Faxes* .
- Click *Add a Printer* .

- In the *Add Printer*
dialog box, click the appropriate port setup for your product, and
then click *Next* .
- Under *Manufacturer* ,
scroll to and click *HP* .
- Under *Printers* , scroll
to and click *hp deskjet 990c* , and then click
*Next* . The *Type a printer
name* dialog box opens.
- Make sure *hp deskjet
990c* is listed in the *Printer name* box,
click the *Set as the default printer* checkbox
to clear it, and then click *Next* .

- In the *Printer Sharing*
dialog box, select the appropriate radio button to share the print
driver or not, and then click *Next* .

- Click *Print a test page*
to make sure the print driver is working correctly, and then click
*Close* . Click *Troubleshoot
printer problems* to solve the issue if the test page does not print
correctly.
- Click *Finish* to
complete the installation.

*Step
two: Designate the temporary print driver for two-sided print jobs*

Follow these steps to use the temporary print
driver each time you print a two-sided document.

- In the program you are printing from, click
*File* , and then click *Print*
. The *Print* dialog box opens.

- In the *Name* drop-down
list, click *hp deskjet 990c* , and then click
*OK* to print.

Does anyone know if HP is near putting out a solution for this stunning
set of problem printer drivers?

I'm quite tired of having to reset the gpd file every so often when one
of HP's hidden "update" functions decides to overwrite what I have
previously corrected?

I have been slow in responding to email requests bcause of a hard drive
failure that I have been slowly recovering from.

I do not have any information on HP's schedule for releasing an
official patch.

For those that need a patch for an HP inkjet printer to address the
back side printing upside down in Vista please send me an email with
Vista Duplex and the printer model in the subject line. Send requests
to bobh RemoveThis @mvps.org.

Regards,
Bob Headrick, MS MVP Printing/Imaging
