Greetings all,
I have windows Vista home premium which I recieve with my new HP Pavillion
dv6000 lap top about 2 months ago. The D Drive, which I guess is also called
the recovery drive, is 95% full. As far as I can determine the recovery
folder is the only item in the D Drive. I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem
right that the D Drive should be 95% full. What should I do to resolve this
problem. Thank You for your help in advance.

There really isn't a problem. Should you need to recover your PC, this is
where all the files are that are needed to reinstall your Vista system; a
lot of them, no doubt, are compressed. They may be hidden and not
accessible, or viewable, through Vista's Explorer (in other words, by normal
navigational means), until the Recovery Wizard opens the partition. A
certain amount of free space (which looks to be 5% of the drive) is need by
the Recovery Manager to expand files. See:

The recovery partition is for restoring your computer to the way it was when
you bought it.
Think of it as a DVD. It doesn't need more space, because nothing should be
added to it.
Wasn't it hidden?

The Recovery partition cannot be accessed via normal means (Explorer).
Check the documentation.
HP provides an utility with the laptop by which the recovery partition can
be copied to removeable media for use in restoration. When the partition
was created, the MBR was nodified so that the "Hit F11 for restoring" (or
something similiar) showed during boot. The utility also removes the
modification and makes the "reclaimed" space available.
