In XP you could get a rough idea of a dial speed by running your cursor over
the Internet connection in the system tray. How can you do this with Vista?

Get out of the dark ages and get a broadband connection.

As slow as dial up is what does it really matter what speed you arent
running.

I'm sorry but the post did not appear this end. This is not my computer I
am on Broadband, this is for a friend.

P.S. Here in Australia our Broadband can be expensive especially for
retirees.

Try double left clicking the icon in the
notification area of your Windows
Taskbar...you should see a screen with
the info.

A lot of places don't have access to broadband unless a satellite dish
is installed.
