Post subject: Deny Access to Folders Add to elertz
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>administration_accounts_passwords (more info?)

I set up a new user account. I want the user not to be able to open several
folders. I already successfully stopped certain programs from being used.
How to deny access to folders. PC not networked.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

the best way to achieve this is to open the properties of the folder, hit
security tab and in the ACL add the appropriate user and select Deny option
for his account. If you'll have trouble achieving this, just let me know,
I'll provide you step by step if needed..

On the other hand, if you want to prevent access to the users group, you can
do the following:
Right click on the folder, security tab. Remove the Users group from the ACL.
If permissions are inherited from the top folder, you'll need to hit
Advanced tab --> Edit --> Deselect "Include inheritable permissions from this
object's parent" option. After you've done with this, you can remove the
users group from the ACL and thus forbidding the users group to access this
folder.
