I am having problems with CD Maker and MPG files on my system with Vista 32 bit. I have tried MPG files that were created from various programs and they all crash CD Maker.

These are the details from the Problem Report:

Extra information about the problem
Bucket ID: 359023991

The available solution says:
This problem was caused by lmpgspl.ax (Follow the steps in the article to unregister this binary, e.g. regsvr32 /u lmpgspl.ax). lmpgspl.ax (Follow the steps in the article to unregister this binary, e.g. regsvr32 /u lmpgspl.ax) was created by Ligos Corporation.

I ran regsvr32 /u on lmpgspl.ax and it said it was unregistered, but then the program, still crashes and gives the same solution. I am totally lost here, and very disappointed, because I bought this media center PC with the hopes that I can take some old family videos that I can only capture as an MPG and put them on DVDs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After searching a bit more, I found a soulution that fixed this problem. This is what I found and it worked fine:

"lmpgspl.ax is part of the Ligos codec which is known to cause problems. To remove start an elevated command prompt and type the folowing commands. To start an elevated command prompt find Command prompt in the Start Menu, right click on it and pick Run as administrator from the popup menu.

regsvr32 /u lmpgvd.ax
regsvr32 /u lmpgspl.ax
regsvr32 /u lmpgad.ax"
