I am using Windos Movie Maker v.6.0 with Vista Ultimate. I have imported a
video from my Sony digital Handycam using a firewire. When I go onto the
timeline and click the plus sign next to "video" as soon as the audio bar
shows the program crashes. Windows then says it will try to fix the problem,
but nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas how I can edit my sound. There are
some areas where I want to turn the sound off for part of the video clip.

first try to use yhe clasic windows look so the video card runs better or
find out if yuo have the rigth video card, to lower the volume in parts of
the clip split the video where you want to lower and then rigth click to mute
or lower that portion of the clip.... same goes for added sound

Thanks

I don't crash in video mode, only when I try to work with the sound. I have
a high level video card, so I doubt if that is the problem. Microsoft is
going to call me this morning (high level) and hopefully they will help. If
not, I'll use Studio which I have, but did not load on this PC.

Thanks,

Fred
