CBS.Logs access denied ??

i ran sfc /scannow

then i entered findstr /C:"[SR] Cannot repair member file"
%windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt

only this appears C:\windows\system32>

then i entered C:\windows\system32>edit sfcdetails.txt

this appears C:\windows\system32>'edit' is not a recgonzied as an
internal or external

command, operable program or batch file

Open sfcdetails.txt with notepad.

Hello,
The difference in this case is calling the cbs.log directly rather than
using notepad.
When you just enter cbs.log, the session has to fire off an open to
notepad, that is what is causing the Access Denied.
When you run notepad from directly from within the elevated cmd prompt, if
opens in the context of the that user account.
Not all log files require the same permissions for this to get this error
message when you run them directly through association rather than through
running notepad directly.

Hello,
Re: elevated privilege to run cbs log. No need. I just right-clicked,
run as admin,and typed notepad c:\ command. It worked. And I was on my
own admin/standard account.
