Yea... I'm not ready to do a factory restore just yet... I'll wait and see
if anything comes from this via an update from Microsoft. If I have time
this weekend, I might contact them directly via email and see what they can
do.

Don't hold yer breath. How many millions of email messages do you
suppose are sent on a daily basis to MS?

Randomness... I just booted up my laptop and the error went away. I
downloaded a new version of Open Office. Maybe there was a driver in there
that fixed the error. I'm going to reboot right now and see what happens.
Fingers crossed.

I had the same issue. I resolved it by deleteing all files in the
Users>[user name]>appdata>local>temp
folder and then reinstalling the original version of Authen tec Access
manager (version 1.1.13 in my case). I have a Toshiba P300 and the
original version is located in
C:\TOSAPINS\Authenec-Fingerprint-Utility and run the setup.exe file.

Anyone hitting this issue, please email me your "WindowsUpdate.log" file
(found in your Windows Directory).
Email: "tidavis at Microsoft dot com".
We will track down the specific update and get it removed from WU.
