Archived from groups: alt>comp>virus (more info?)

my computer got infected by a virus called 3DAB748154D14E1... when i
opened this file using notepad, it showed that this is .vbs type file.
(from the coding... i guess it is a vbs file) and its tell me that
"this is a trojan horse"... it avoid me from opening the folder
option. (in order to open the hidden folder). it also avoid me from
opening the "regedit" and also the "command prompt". i don't know
what else i should do. because everytime i tried to open the "regedit"
my computer automatically restarted. and even i tried to delete it
using antivirus, the software keep showing me that it cannot open the
c file. seems that "he" is avoiding anything from scanning on him.

anyone... have any idea.. how to remove it... besides from
"formatting" the computer or "restrore" the computer?
any genius idea... really appreciate the helps...

thanks..

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but it worked for me so it's
worth a shot.

My roomate was in a similar situation and no matter what I tried nothing
seemed to work until another friend told me about a program called
combofix.exe. It's free, I have no idea who wrote it or how and what it
does exactly - so proceed at your own risk. Just google it, run it (it
takes about 15 minutes), reboot and you're done. All I had to afterwards
was to "repair" the network connection (right click, click repair) and the
computer was 100% back to normal again. I got it from bleepingcomputer.com,
but can also be found in many other sites.

Which brings me to the question - what's the general consensus about
combofix in this group? Does anybody else have any experiences to share,
either good or bad? All I know is that it saved my friend's butt once, and
I'd sure use it again if I had to.

Good luck and let us know the outcome.
