I ran Spybot today and it identified 3 problems. When I went to repair, it
wanted to set a system restore point. However, the system gets stuck at
that point and a system restore can't be set by Spybot. Recommendations on
what I can do to fix this appreciated.

I've had that happen a couple of times. To get around it, I turned off
system restore, ran Spybot, and then turned it back on. Keep in mind that
doing this deletes all your restore points. But they could well be infected
too, in which case a system restore would restore "bad stuff" again.

Try running SpybotSD in safe mode. If not - run system restore yourself
and then try to disable the restore point in the SD options? Don't know
if that's possible, best of luck.
What OS? What v or SpyBot?

run spybot in advanced mode click on mode then advanced and under setting
turn off the 2 settings for create a restore point in win xp. I have run in
to this on several machines and have found no common cause, would guess it
is a problem in windows.

Just create a restore point manually before running any program you're not
100% sure about

There is an option in SpyBot 1.3 to allow you to disable SpyBot from setting
a restore point.
