I have seen this occur a few times - usually fixed by selecting a different
server to collect the updates from.
I am seeing a different problem. The latest updates were released on 14th
October but it has only been today (19th) that SpyBot found that the update was
available - up until a few minutes ago it kept telling me that there were no new
updates available.
I have SpyBot set up to check for updates when it starts. The log says
"downloaded update info file. (http://security.kolla.de/updates/spybotsd.ini)"
but no new update was downloaded even though I know that a new update was
available courtesy of Siljaline's announcement.
One possibility is that the server is being hammered and can't respond to my
check. Is it possible to have it check another site that may not be so busy for
the spybotsd.ini file? I haven't found a way to configure this as yet.
Another possibility is that the server is set up to advise that an update is
available according to a schedule depending on which country the PC is located
in. Is it possible that the server is set up to update say US sites on days
1&2, then say European sites on days 3&4 followed by the rest of the World from
day 5 on? Could this explain why it took until 5 days after the update was
released before my copy of SpyBot found out that it existed and actually
downloaded it? This sounds like a conspiracy theory but ....

How do I "switch to a different server"? There seem to be no settings in
Spybot. I just click the updates button, so how do I change servers?
Thanks, Chrisssss.......

Chrisssssss,
1) Start Spybot S&D
2) Click on Search for Updates
3) In the Search for Updates window, next to
Search for Updates, is a Server Pulldown.
4) Use the down arrow to see a list of Servers
available to you.
BTW, this list is in online.ini in your Spybot S&D/Updates directory.
