Post subject: Panda AV is unstable
Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

Hi,

My Panda AV (Panda Platinum 2006 Internet Security) is unstable.

I have installed Panda in such a way that security is high.
However, lately after rebooting I see a message from Panda telling me
that security is low or medium.

I have to juggle the settings to return it to High again as it should
be.

After another reboot is is low again!

When I boot as another user (I myself have Administrator rights) I see
Panda being switched off altogether!

Panda does not have the politeness to answer my emails.

Please what can I do (apart from switching to another AV)?

Kind regards,

Rob, Amsterdam.

Buy another suite on eBay.
Panda is big, slows your machine, isn't worth the time.
I trashed it.

I don't like Panda Platinum 2006 either. It was a hog and always fussing
about something. I am now using NOD32, Commodo Firewall (free) and Webroot
Spy Sweeper (2 years for $30). I tried several "suites" and individual
programs, and this has been the best combination for me.

Unfortunately, switching is the only possible option.

May I recommend Trend Micro?

How did you get 2 years from Webroot? Their site is selling 1 year for that
price.

Seems like I downloaded the free trial, and they emailed me a $10 discount
code. When I went to buy it, it was $29.95 for 1 year or $39.95 for 2
years, minus the $10 = $29.95 for 2 years.

Sorry, but I've read that Trendmicro is a resource hog too. Forget where.
Sorry.
