| I have just installed Avira AntiVir Premium and it is doing a scan.
| But after 1 hour and 30 it has scanned 32% of files only.
| Perhaps do I wrong in its config?
| Thanks
Speed of a scan is dependent upon many factors.
Such ias...
Speed of CPU and hard disk.
Number of files
Scanning file tyoe such as "all file types" and/or Archive files

I find the FREE edition impossibly SLOW! To check 1,385,999 files it took
over 3 HOURS!!! And then it does not automatically Delete or put in
Quarantine suspected files. It just stops. Very poor.
Is the paid version just as dumb?

Your results are atypical or you have not taken the time to learn its flexible
configuration.
In all my tests and on all the platfrms I have installed this there have been no problems
with the quaratine capability.
An "On Demand" scan it will stop and query you for action. It will then allow you to
repaet your choice on further caught files. Additionally you may configure the program to
perform "interactive" or "automatic" in the case of "action for concerning files". Thus
uou may choose quarantine as an automatic function on what is deemed to be malware. This
can be set using the "Expert mode'.
As for the speed of scan, that is dependent on many factors such as memory load, CPU
speed, hard disk speed, number of files, type of files (like archive files, mail folders
and if you choose all files aor selected file types), file size and fragmentation of the
media. I am quite sure you will find other "On Demand" scanners to be the same speed or
slower with but a few faster. The "On Access" scanning is quick with low overhead.
