I was wondering what the best combination of programs are for
anti-virus/malware/spyware etc etc...

Currently have:
AVG 8.0.169
Comodo firewall professional (Free) 3.0.25.378
Windows defender 1.1.1593.0 (I know, this is the program I want to
change the most)

and run every now & again:
CCleaner 2.11.636

I'd love to download the whole newsgroup and read it all, but with dial
up, and little time anyway....

I run Avira Premium Antivirus which also gives you maleware protection
resident and Superantispyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on-demand. I
have Windows Defender disabled in Windows Vista. Avira is one of the top
rated out there for protection.
