I would like to have one of the pages on my home page of my web site to have
an access code, how do I set this up.

Depends on the host how it is done
The method I use is to restrict access to a folder by user name and
password. Your host help files should tell you how to do that. Then place
that page in that folder and only users with the user name and password can
see that page.

a website. It is the procedure I use on my site.
