When I cut and paste a Visio diagram into PowerPoint
(either as an embedded Visio diagram or as a metafile),
much of the text in the diagram is dropped when I print
the PowerPoint slides.

The only current way I've found to make this work is to
paste a JPEG or other image file, which of course
degrades the quality.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Scott,

It sounds like you may be encountering the problem in this KB article:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=815620" target="_blank">http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=815620</a>

You will need to contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the
fix.

Scott,

We have found that the EMF format is the most efficient in PowerPoint, and
doesn't degrade like JPG because it is vector.
Alternatively, we have released an new version of the Visio to PowerPoint
export tool, pptXporter, at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bvisual.net" target="_blank">www.bvisual.net</a>
