Post subject: problem with guestbook
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>frontpage>addins (more info?)

when i upload the guestbook and guestlog, and type a test message, it fails
to post into the log, it opens a webfile with the extention =
_derived/nortbots.htm
with the message "The page you are looking for might have been removed, had
its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable"

this path is a path i also find on my c-drive..

somthing else that pusples me about it, when creating the page
there is an imbedded message that says after posting message
you will need to refresh to see the message
this tells me the post will appear on that same page where you enter the
message
so what would the need be for the seperate guestlog it crates

eitherway, it don't work for me
any suggestions please

i worked it out
i needed to add that _derived extension and "activate" it
and put the norbots file in it

You must either create the guestbook directly on the live site or publish the local site to a server
that has the FPSE via FP's http mode.

You don't need norbots.htm. Activating the FrontPage extensions should
have fixed the problem, and norbots.htm can be deleted. It is a long
error message stating that extensions are not installed or working
correctly.
