I haven't been able to figure out how or if it's possible to create a website
header in Publisher and export it to my Yahoo-hosted e-commerce site. Every
time I try Yahoo says the image has to be in GIF or JPEG. Is this something
that can only be done with something like Photoshop? Thanks......

I am assuming that you are talking about a banner that you created in
Publisher. In Publisher 2003, select all the design elements in your banner,
right click, save as a picture.

Do you mean using a banner (as in large banners) in the blank publication
section, or do I create a banner at the top of a blank web page and save
that?

I am using the word "banner" as the top 100 pixels or so of each page, that
will extend across the top of probably each page in your site. It typically
has a logo, business name, contact info and such.

Let me put it another way. You can convert any or all of a Publisher web
publication page to an image. After you have made your "website header ",
banner or whatever you want to call it, just select all the design objects
on the page that you want to combine into an image (you might find it
easiest to also group them), right click and Save As a picture. In the Save
dialog you have the option of saving as a gif, jpg, png etc. Then you have
an image to use in your Yahoo website.

You can also copy all the grouped design objects > Edit > Paste Special > As
a Picture...right back on your Publisher page.

or...

If you think you might want to edit the image, then after you copy all the
design objects and elements, go to a third party image editor such as
Photoshop Elements and when you open it, go to File > New from Clipboard,
and you will open the combined image and can edit the size, dpi etc. You can
also use www.Irfanview.com which a good alternative...and its free. You edit
> paste into Irfanview.

Create your graphic banner in Publisher, save as a JPG then use that as your
banner in YooHoo.
Only recent versions of Publisher can save as a JPG.
You'd be better off using an image or graphics editor to do this, but it
will work in Publisher.

I think you will have to tell us more detail of what you are doing.
Are you creating a website in Publisher (What version)??
What is the file name you are trying to upload to Yahoo?
What is a "WebSite Header"??
and anything else related ?? Error Message etc??

I'm creating a Yahoo store with their templates. I have my choice of
uploading just my company logo or the entire banner (some call it the header,
which is the top strip on a webpage that includes the company name and
background). I want something more sophisticated than their boring script.
They require the banner to be GIF or JPEG. My question is: can I create just
this banner in Pub 2003 and save it in the proper file format for uploading?
Thanks....

Update: I've managed to get my WordArt logo as GIF uploaded but the
background won't go with it. In other words......the entire banner won't go,
only the specific object I click on. I can get the logo to go, or the
background, or the tag line, but not all. How do I "composite" the entire
banner so it will go?
