Post subject: How do I determine the edition of Visio 2k3 from installed files?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>visio>general (more info?)

Hi all
I have been asked to produce a count of installed seats of Visio 2003
Standard and Visio 2003 Pro. All our desktops have SMS 2003 agent installed
so I chose to use SMS Software Inventory to complete this task. How can I
determine from examining the installed files on a computer running Visio 2003
if it is Professional or Standard Edition?
The visio.exe file in both cases appears to be identical (186,936 bytes,
created 16 August 2003, version 11.0.3216) - what file distinguishes Std from
Pro?
Thanks
Adam

Visio.exe is standard for all flavours of Visio, the difference is in the
extra templates, stencils and Add-ons.

VisPrx32.DLL will exist if the pro version is installed.
