names.dat is corrupt

I'm getting this error message on a folder under the main project. I ran the
analyze util with the -f switch and it did not correct the issue. I try
deleting the folder and that doesn't work. under the folder there is a file
with no name or anything. I tried deleting that and that didn't work...
I installed SP 6 and that didn't work. I'm at my wits end. I have a batch
file that runs a command to get latest version of the entire SS DB and it
bombs out tells me names. dat is corrupt and then I get an "out of memory"
error. This issue is killing me. There has to be something else I can do to
get rid of this folder. We dont use it and have no need for it. We just want
to make it go away but no matter what we try it doesn't. Anyone have any
ideas?
