Post subject: how can I collapse a report and not print blank pages Add to elertz Archived from groups: microsoft>public>access>reports (more info?)
I have a report that potentially can report about three pages of details. BUt
most are only 1.5 pages.
Using "can shrink" I have made blank fields disappear along with their
captions, which I converted to text boxes and set as "can shrink" also.
Now I print a page and a half of data and one blank page with a page number
on it.
It's great to save toner, but I want to save the paper too. this would be a
30% reduction of a 400-500 page routine report.
Can I get the report to "collapse" and not print the invisible fields and
captions?

Does the Report Section containing the Controls also have its "CanShrink"
Property set to Yes?
Do you have other Controls of any kind alongside the Controls which are
shrinking? If so, that will keep it from actually shrinking.

Awesome! that was it, the Report Section didn't have Can Shrink enabled.
Larry, the creatures of the forest thank you!

Thanks for the kind words. You, and the creatures, are most welcome.
