Was using Visio 2000 with HP 2500C printer on WIN 98 no
problem. Have now switched to WIN XP and cannot print
Tabloid size. Microsoft reports similiar problems with
Excel but is doing nothing about it. They suggest
changing to Office 2003. From what I read in this group,
Office 2003 won't fix anything and there is virtually NO
HP printer that works properly under XP

While I have seen several posts detailing problems with *certain* HP
printers, I can assure you that there are plenty of HP printers that work
just fine with WinXP and versions of Office and Visio. I have an HPDJ1120C
in my office that works flawlessly (always has) and I think most of our
laser printers are HP here in the office and I've had no trouble with any of
them.
Things to try: Make sure you have the latest, greatest printer driver for
your printer. Go to the HP web site, follow the support links and you'll
find driver updates. That is usually enough to fix most printer driver
problems.
Other things to try is to use a different HP Printer Driver for your
particular printer. Sometimes you can successfully substitute an older HP
printer driver that is more stable for a newer, less stable driver.
Also--if the HP printer supports PostScript, you can try the generic post
script driver.
I hope one of these helps.

I have used the 1120 and 1220 in the past but they are
too slow. The ones I use now are the 2000C, 2500CXI and
1100 laser. All had HP drivers for WIN 95 and 98 and
worked fine. HP does not have XP drivers for these
printers so I'm stuck with what Microsoft supplies. They
will all print a simple letter or picture on 8.5X11 paper
but as soon as you do something different - problems as
mentioned in the first post. I tried the "other printer
driver" routine with the 1100, it went from bad to worse.
I think the logical solution is to go back to WIN98.

Have you tried contacting HP? They may have a solution for you or a
recommended substitute driver. We use a lot of HP laser printers around
here, and some of them are pretty old. But they still work great for me.

Spent a couple hours on the HP website tonight.
Discovered that there is no hope to get the 2000 and 2500
working properly. Even more interesting, the HP website
says the 1120 is not supported under XP. You would be
very popular if you went to the HP forums, inkjet subject
and found the post with 58 messages from people trying to
get their 1120 to work and told them how you did it.

That's strange--my 1120C has always worked. I didn't do anything other than
plug it in.

I am having trouble getting Visio Pro 2003 running on XP
to print on an HP deskjet 5150 .. I installed the latest
drivers off the HP website... and still same problem...
Visio prints what's at the bottom of the page in the
middle of the page... and what is at the top is gone...
