Printing Visio 2003 in Word

We are having trouble printing out Visio 2003 graphics
embedded in earlier versions of Word. They are not our
2003 graphics. If we upgrade to Visio 2003 and backwards
save the pictures as 2002 and reinsert in Word will this
fix the problem. Or is this related to everyone else's
Visio 2003 printing problems already on this site.
Obviously we don't want to spend the money on the upgrade
if it won't fix the problem. And by the sounds of it
printing in Visio 2003 is a problem full stop

Hope someone can help me out

ps I don't think it is a HP issue - it is just that
everyone uses HP printers!!
