John,
noe fo the custom buttons remain - just adding a about 3 each time. Once I
exit and reopen, they are gone. And already tried a new toolbar, that
disappears to if I exit and reopen.

Hello Larry,
Ok, so next question is what do you use Visio for? (Ie are you using
particular templates such as Brainstroming or Org Chart, or are you just
using blank drawings?)
Sometimes other add-ins can interfere with the toolbars so you could try and
temporarily disable these via Tools / Trust Center... / Add-ins / 'Disable
all Application Add-ins' and then try and make toolbar changes).

Hello Larry,
Glad to hear that's helped. I'm hoping you've re-enabled your add-ins
incrementally. That way you'll a) find out which one was the culprit and b)
you won't be missing useful functionality within those add-ins.
By the way, you should still be able to use Distiller as a printer without
adverse effects.

Hello John,
Just wanted to share......I just noticed your posting on this issue and
wanted to confirm for you that Acrobat 7 DOES NOT play well with Visio 2003
at all. It also will disable clipart as well as mess with the toolbars.
Microsoft has confirmed this is an "issue" with Visio 2003, but they have no
plans to try and fix it....
The best thing to do is to disable Acrobat's availability to Visio in
"Add/Remove Programs". I spent several hours battling this issue (with and
without Microsoft's Tech Support). I did not have this issue with Acrobat 6
and haven't ventured to upgrade to Acrobat 8 or 9 at this time. I just
loaded a copy of Adobe CS2 (which includes Acrobat 7) and rediscovered this
issue rather painfully.....
Cheers!
