Post subject: Text Lost in Printing Archived from groups: microsoft>public>visio>printing (more info?)
I have recently "upgraded" to Visio 2002. I routinely
embed Visio objects into PowerPoint and Word. When I print
a Word document with embedded Visio to Acrobat or to a
Panasonic P6500 printer, the text content in Visio drawings
does not appear in the printed version. As a test, I
printed to a new Xerox 6250DT. The test document printed
correctly on this printer.
Directly from Visio, The same image prints to the
Panasonic with the Times New Roman Stuff correct, but
symbol font characters substitute a black rectangle.
Printing directly from Visio to Acrobat prints everything,
but drawing objects are printed on one scale, with text on
another, destroying alignment.
I find a MS Knowledge Base Article 318324 that seems to
touch on the problem. However,it suggests using Distiller
as a fix. I use Distiller only; I never use PDF writer.
Am I missing a setting someplace, or must I return to
Visio 2000? I was happy with it. I only upgraded because I
needed to buy a new copy for a new assistant's machine.
