Post subject: Single page publisher files and putting them into a multi-page fil
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>publisher (more info?)

I have Publisher 2003 from Office 2003. I made many individual pages in
publisher, each as an individual file. Now I want to "copy" them as
individual pages but in a multi-page document. When I open and copy the
individual files and try to paste to a blank page, I get part of the page.
Borders are generally left off or I get one picture box but not the rest of
the page. I don't know what I am doing wrong as these are all 'pub files.

When the single page document is open, select all, ctrl+a, group. Copy. You can
tile the two publications, drag and drop. Right click the Windows taskbar, click
"show Windows side by side"

Thanks. I can see this will probably work but need a bit of fine tuning.
(Hand holding actually.) I assume select all or ctrl+a. I do not get group
when I do this. Where might it be?
I can see the way to tile the two together but when I go to drag and drop, I
get a bunch of dotted lines like making a text box. Finally, when I transfer
the "copy" it does not settle on the page as it is on the original. Does this
mean I have to "arrange" it each time.

Thanks for the help. I can see where this will probably work. I need some
help fine tuning it. (Hand holding actually.) 1: I assume it is select all
"or" ctrl+a. 2: I do not have "group" show up. Where should this be? 3: I can
tile the two publications together but when I go to drag and drop I get a
bunch of dotted lines like making a text box. Also when I paste the copy from
above, it doesn't sit on the page properly as a duuplicate of the original.
Does this mean I will have to arrange each one of these again? I feel so
inadequate when I get into some of this stuff. Thanks for the help.

When you have more than one object selected as in ctrl+a there is an icon on the
bottom of the group, this is the group/ungroup option that you click. (Or
Arrange menu)

Usually when you copy/paste the paste will be in the exact spot it was copied
from.

Place your cursor where you want the paste, right-click, click paste. You can
drag the ruler (hold shift as you drag) this will help your paste to be more
exact.

I managed to find the group thing before your post. One final glitch. When I
copy the "copy" goes from all black and white to colors on the border (purple
and black) and there are some words in the text that end up green. I can play
around and get them back to black but I guess I'm curious as to why the
colors appear plus how the colors are selected as I've never even
contemplated these colors in any other document. Once again the time you take
for me is appreciated.

If one of the publications was a template and had a color scheme; the scheme
will not carry over on the paste. Make a note of the color scheme, apply it
after the paste.
