Post subject: Removing Autonumbers Archived from groups: microsoft>public>visio>general (more info?)
This is probably incredibly easy, but... is there a way to remove the numbers
from autonumbered shapes, other than manually deleting out of each shape?

Select the shapes you to remove the numbering from, start the
Numbering add-on, on the Advanced tab there is an option to hide the
numbering. Any good ?
