Publisher vs Word

I should have been more clear. What I had heard was that 2010 is the last
time it was being included and that the next release would not include it. I
had the wrong use of "next" when I asked my question. I know that I've got
plenty of time before that happens, but over the next couple years I will
need to learn how do to it in Word and teach her how to do it so that she's
prepared when the time comes.

I am sorry, but that just seems a silly, unnecessary concern. Besides the
fact that there has been no facts provided that suggest Pub 2013 won't
happen, even if it is true why worry. I still use Pub 2000 as my production
version and have Pub 97 installed on a test machine, so I seriously doubt
that you need to worry about not being able to use Pub 2007 or 2010 for a
looooong time. Who knows what form Office will take by then, or even how the
internet will have evolved...or what other ways there will be to have a web
presence besides producing web files from a local computer. No...it is silly
to worry about at this point.

Sorry to be so judgmental...silly in my opinion. You can choose to worry
about anything you want.

Word 2007 has save options for both htm & mht. If you use mht many
browsers are unable to display it. I don't know of any usenet support
groups.

What worries me about the change is in placement of the graphics. Placement
of graphics and text within boxes is so easy in Publisher. Word simply does
not have the same capacity as it is a word processing program which is not
that user-friendly when it comes to graphics placement.

I agree. I am inclined to mix pages of Word and Publisher on the same
site. I regard both as "High Level Web Compilers" and expect
limitations and bloated code. A price must be paid for the ease of
operation.
