Hi,
we are having a problem with VSS6.0d and the SSGET command.
We have a main from which we create release branches.
A branch was created at the wrong point from main (before merge down to main
from previous release) and was subsquently deleted (destroy permanently
selected)
We now cannot SSGET from Release 2.8 - as it gives the following error:
Project $Rel_2_9_23 has been destroyed, and cannot be rebuilt.
This branch was never created from release 2.8 - so why is it giving this
error? (2.8 was created from mainline originally)
Any assistance would be gratefully recieved as this is causing major
headaches when we come to deploy to QA / Live.

I used to see this all the time with 6.0d. We've since updated to VSS 2005
and I don't recall seeing it since. You might consider upgrading. The
database format is the same but the client is much more stable and still
works with Visual Studio back to at least 6.0. Also consider running the
analyze utility. It also fixes more problems in 2005.
