I have a very large 232 page catalogue prepared in Publisher 2007. My
network software is Microsoft Business Server 2003. My platform is XP.
Office 2007

The document has over 3000 Linked Pictures. Over 3000 Tables, Generated in
Excel and linked (Paste Special-Paste Link). All Links are sound

When printing to Cannon or Xerox it Drops the links or alters the tables.
Both Print Companies directed me to purchase a Firey system for the printers
and the results are the same.

Both are telling me that Publisher is not intended for printing large
documents.

It pdf's fine and prints professionaly fine as a pdf but I cannot print in
house without generating a PDF

When you switch printers Publisher, and other Office applications,
recompose the page based on the new printers parameters. If you had
originally composed the Publisher document for a Fiery printer queue
then the change would not occur. This is a limitation of Publisher and
many other programs on Windows.

A document that big and complex really is not what Publisher was meant
for. Can it be done? Yes. You would be much better off using InDesign or
Scribus. Having said that, it is still possible to get good results with
the document you have now. As Elmo so eloquently put it, print the PDF
and move on.
