Post subject: Packaging Solution Wizard with Version updates Archived from groups: microsoft>public>access>setupconfig (more info?)
I’m using the Packaging Solution Wizard that is included with Access 2007
Developer Extensions. It works great except for updating to a new version. It
requires the users to uninstall first and then install the update. The
message we are getting is “Another version of this product is already
installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or
remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove programs on the
Control Panel”.
Version 1 is built and installed… version 2 is a new built with the Product
Version (major, minor, built) and Product Code all the same. Just install
over the top of what is there and DO NOT make the user uninstall first.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated - Tanks for all help in advance.
