Post subject: Organization Chart from Access? Archived from groups: microsoft>public>access (more info?)
Hello,
I have been Googling like crazy , and can't seem to find a way to make
an organizational chart from Access. I downloaded and installed
Microsoft Organization Chart 2.0, but I can't find how to use it.
I have all the data in my Employee table, but I can't figure out how
to get it to come together in a organization chart look.

Hello.
I checked MS Access's help file and couldn't find anything about
organizational charts.
AFA MS Organization Chart 2.0, I downloaded it (msoc2.exe) and
installed it, but it never asks for a directory of where you wanted
the install. I searched my hard drive for "organization" and all I
found is the inf file. So, I installed it but don't know where it
installed to or even how to start it. What I found on MS says where to
get it and what it does, but nothing on how to use or access it.

To access it in access after installing it, (use powerpoint setup option to
install the control, not selected by default) then on a form in access
insert unbound object and scroll to the bottom of the list for
organizational chart addin. I haven't used it for years and it hasn't been
updated significantly since Office 97. Might read below links for more
details.

Thanks Pete! That's the part I needed. But when I looked and it and
read over its help file, you have to type the employee's name in each
block. Doesn't seem to be a way to link it to the tables so that it
can pull data from there.
If anyone else has a way to pull the data from Access 2003 to make
organization charts, keep me in mind.

which has a zipped file consisting of an Access databse, an Excel
spreadsheet, and 2 .asp files. Can't get it to work for me, but it
looks like the direction I was looking for.
