Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 encountered an error durin..

Hi,

I am trying to install Office Publisher 2007 on my Vista machine which
already has Office Standard 2007 installed on it.

Every time I try and install Publisher, I get an error. I insert the disk,
run
the project setup file, enter my key, accept the EULA and then it gets to the
"Installing Microsoft Publisher 2007" screen. The progress bar
starts to fill and then I get the error screen displaying:

"Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 encountered an error during setup"

This happens every time I try and install it. There is no option to
uninstall Publisher from add/remove programs. I have also used the windows
install cleanup tool to no avail.

Several months ago, I did signup for the "trial" version from the MS site,
but it never worked either and I can't see where to go to try to "delete" or
uninstall it. The techie guy at Best Buy assured me this $375 spend was well
worth the money and that it would absolutely work with Vista - was he lying
to me?

I really need to get Publisher installed and it's killing me that I spent
that much monety and can't use the dang thing! Thanks in advance!

No progress occurs in the "Installation Progress" dialog box when you install
the 2007 Office system or a stand-alone 2007 Office product
