Post subject: Lost Activation Code for Microsoft Office XP home editio Add to elertz Archived from groups: microsoft>public>access>setupconfig (more info?)
When I purchased this computer it already had the Microsoft XP Home Edition
as well as the Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office power Point viewer
2003 software installed. II started with the 60 day trial pkgs. After the 60
days I upgraded. In January of this year I had to perform a System restore
due to my computer freezing on a constant basis. But, before I performed that
task I made a back up disk of every program individually. When I downloaded
the backed up disk(s) All of the Microsoft applications are useless. They are
requesting the activation Code that I simply do not have anymore. I have
over 300 word documents that i can't open and quite a few powerpoint
presentations that I need for work that I can't access at all. I've contacted
both Microsoft and HP. Each company tells me that it's not there problem and
I keep being bounced back and forth between both companies. Please, I am
begging you if anyone can help please do I am anxiously waiting for some help
and support re: this unfortunate yet frustrating dilemma.
--
I would appreciate any help or suggestions to help me with this very
frustrating situation.
Thank you,
Allison N.

Just a follow up
An after thought
If you purchased your system from a store/dealer it came with Windows as a
bundled package.
Go back to where you purchased it with all your relavent documentation and
see if they will help you out.
If you have purchased your system second hand from someone else then you
have no options as Windows at time of setup was done so by/for the original
owner and is licensed to he/she.
It's like buying a second hand car, you have to pay to have the
ownership/registration tranferred into your name, same difference with
software.
