Post subject: Printing Out Grid Archived from groups: microsoft>public>visio>printing (more info?)
Hi,
I'm using Visio to redesign our office floor.
I would like to print the layout of the empty office, so
everybody can move their things and we'll see where we end
up.
Only one thing I would like to add, that's a grid that's
printed with the layout.
I cannot get my grid to print together with my design.

If you are using Visio 2003, printing the grid is an option. In previous
versions you need to do a work around.
The most common work around is to create a background page with a grid
pattern. Draw a vertical line, duplicate it as many times as required.
Select all the lines and align the tops and distribute the lines. Group the
selection and stretch to the appropriate size. Repeat for the horizontal
lines.
There is also some VBA code at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.mvps.org/visio/VBA.htm" target="_blank">www.mvps.org/visio/VBA.htm</a> that may help. (It
may require tuning)

Printing the grid was added in Visio 2003. For previous version the
workaround was to create a grid pattern on a background page and attach this
page to the foreground pages. (If the foreground pages already have
background pages, the grid background can be attached to the background
page(s))
