Database diagram lockup?

Hello,

Whenever I try to open or create a database diagram (ERD), visio 2007
SP1 freezes. I'm running visio under XP X64 SP2, with no easy access to
a different system. I have only managed to successfully create a
database diagram once, but subsequent opening only yields more
frustration, as visio just locks up.

Is there a fix or workaround?

Here is an alternative that also worked for me: I disabled the print
spooler service. Guess there's something wrong with the printer service?
