Post subject: Cropping Images when Page Size > Paper Size
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>visio>printing (more info?)

This is an interesting Problem.

GENERAL: My Print Zoom is 2x2 pages, which crops out
images that fall in the margins, in the middle of the
diagram (where the pages meet eachother)

SPECIFICS:
The Print Paper is 11 X 8.5 (landscape).
The Drawing Page is 33 X 25.5.
The Print Zoom is 2 Sheets by 2 Sheets.

Since the Margins are defined (and I cannot make smaller)
at .657/.25 (L/R) & .35/.283 (T/B)... the shapes that
fall in the middle of the diagram, which fall in the
margin, are not printed.

I would have expected Visio to Banner the Drawing to fit
within the Margins and not crop/lose part of the image.

Help?

Hello-
Since I did not get a reply from the newsgroup, I had to
try other avenues of support. I did get an answer... am
posting for everyone's benefit.

It turns out that Visio is MUCH more sensitive to the
Printer Driver than other MS products. Because of that,
incorrect Printer Drivers, or out of Date Drivers can
cause incorrect output.

by default, Visio should 'duplicate' the contents within
the margins, on the adjacent sheets, so you can line them
up properly. Based upon the printer & print driver
combination, you can see:

The margins completely NOT printed
The pages printed completely, but no 'duplicated margins'
The pages printed with the 'duplicated margins'

Hope this helps,
--Jason
