I'm trying to create some simple shapes for a project I'm working on and I
want these shapes to have floating text boxes similar to the shapes in the
Computer and Monitors stencil.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

OK. Just a nudge.
Place one of the Computer and Monitor shapes on a drawing page and bring up
it's shape sheet. The sections of interest will be:
>> User-defined Cells
>> Controls
>> Text Transform.

From the User-defined cells you will need the User.HasText row.
From the Controls you need Row_1 (probably the only row)
From the Text Transform: TxtPinX and TxtPinY entries

Your shape will need these three sections in it's shapesheet with the same
formulas.

Enjoy.
