I am trying to create a booklet with a portrait page orientation. The
general set up is landscape page orientation. When I change the page
orientation to portrait it will not set up as a booklet. Any suggestions.

Actually the booklet will be portrait if you are using letter stock. The pages
will measure 5.5 wide and 8.5 tall. If you invoke portrait when you setup a
booklet, it will measure 4.25 X 11.
If you are using Publisher 2007, file, page setup, advanced (on the right pane),
select booklet, type 4.25 width, 11 height.
If you are using 11 x 17 stock, the default is portrait.

Sorry my mistake, what I am looking for is a booklet like a top folding card.
Now when I use the card template my pages don't print correctly. That was
why I was using booklet (if this makes any sense) I am trying to create a
booklet that opens and reads from the long edge of the paper (like a greeting
card)
Thanks

What version Publisher are you using? It does make a difference. What size are
the cards?
