Two Column Report , Headers not spanning width

The help text states that when using a multi-column report, the headers will
span the width of the report.

Mine will not. The headers only stay on the left side, the width of the
first column.

The Page and Report Headers?
In Report Design view, make the width of the report the full width of
the paper used less the width of the margins.

Then click on File + Page Setup + Columns.
Uncheck the Same as Detail check box.
Then manually enter the wanted column width in the column width box.

Save the changes.

The Page Header will now span the entire width of the page.
You can duplicate column header text across the page header as needed.

Group Headers, however, will not span the full page.
