I'm a web novice with a simple 6 page website using Pub 2003, BlueHost &
FileZilla. Site looks perfect in web preview and when I view the index/html
file on my hard drive, the nav bars work and the clip art shows. But only ONE
clip art image shows and the backgroud color is yellow instead of parchment
on the actual site. Nothing is grouped and I've tried compressing graphics
thinking maybe the files are too large. Am I somehow not uploading the
index_files? I have dragged/uploaded them into FileZilla a bunch of times. At
my wit's end! Thanks. www.miss-cellaneous.com

Krissy

Looking at your site: It appears that the images (gif's) have not been
uploaded to the index_files folder
image698.gif etc.

This is where I have been getting the most confused because I am not exactly
sure how to upload or even if I have been uploading the index_files. When I
click on public_html in FileZilla, the index_files are there with all the
images from my site. I have dragged (which is uploading, right?) them into
FileZilla numerous times. I also tried dragging each of the 80 some-odd
images one by one into FileZilla too. Am I missing a step somewhere in
FileZilla? When I click on ftp://miss-cellaneous.com on my hard drive and
click on the index.htm, the images are missing and the background is the
wrong color, BUT when I click on the index.htm file that gets saved in my
"regular" files (so-to-speak) I can click on that one and it is perfect.
Another thing I'm not sure about is why there are duplicates of the index.htm
and the index_files in difference places, but whatever the case may be, I am
apparently unsuccessful in uploading from Publisher and FileZilla. I have
been reading past posts now for hours...ugh...Still trying to remain hopeful
with the experts on board here Smile

I solved my problem! WOO HOO!! After countless hours, I ended up here
http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/ftp/filezilla.htm (the FileZilla tutorial
within the program itself was of no help to me) and uploaded my files into
WWW as opposed to public_html. I understand that www is the shortcut, but
since I still have the floor here, why the heck wouldn't my uploading work in
public_html?

Thank your your availability and immediate help MS experts!

I now have a simple, yet functional site, so this is a happy ending.
