I am running Office 2003 on Vista. Whenever I have in inbox open, the
messages blink intermittently and the vista Icon (wheel) goes round and
round. I can move it over messages and it will open them, but the blinking
is annoying. Any ideas?

I think all you need to do is click it once and it will stop forever. It's
just a fancy way of making sure you realise it's a button to click.

I must not have explained my problem well. When I open Outlook and open my
inbox, it lists all my new messages and those that I have not answered or are
still on my active list. This list will blink randomly. At the same time,
the pointer changes to the Vista circle icon, back to the pointer, then back
to the circle and then finally settles on the circle, which goes round and
round. I can move the circle as though it is my pointer, and it will open
messages if I left click with it. It is extremely annoying.
I have ATT DSL service and I have called them to check through their system
to see if they have any issues with Vista. They said they have issues with
Vista, but this is not one that has been reported.
Please help.
Thanks!

That's the new "hourglass" icon indicating a process is running which is
telling you to wait. Of course the trick is to find out which process that
is.
Can you start Outlook in Safe Mode and see if it still happens?

I get this same issue on occassion. It always occurs after getting an error
message that "Windows Host process has stopped responding".
It seems to occur independent of current programs running and for no known
reason.
