I am a brand new user of Vista and am runnining into a page setup/printing
problem using Excel 2003. When I go to page setup, the page preview display
and printing is always in portrait mode. Even when I select landscape, the
preview does not change. When I use Word 2003, however, it will change
between the two orientations. When I use Excel 2003 on an XP machine, there
is no problem. This makes me think its a Vista-Excel 2003 compatibility
issue. Printer is a Samsung B/W laser, ML-2510 and my Vista PC has the
newest Vista driver (3.01).
Any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi Jeff,
I can't duplicate your problem. Are you on SP3 for Excel and SP1 for Vista?

Shane - more info.
This Excel problem is related to the printer. When I select the MS XPS
document writer printer driver, it will switch between portrait and
landscape. It's also much, much faster. When I switch back to the Samsung
ML-2510 driver, I am again stuck in portrait mode only. If I select my Epson
CX6600, I can do both portrait and landscape. Sounds like the Samsung
driver, right? But MS Word seems to have no issue and can print preview and
print in landscape and portrait on the Samsung.
Again, it seems like the combo between Vista and Excel 2003 and Samsung. No
problems on XP.

I am experiencing the exact same problem. All of our computers run Windows
Vista 32bit. We are using the latest Vista drivers for the Samsung ML-2510,
connected locally. We cannot print documents in landscape orientation mode.
We experience similar problems with a Samsung SCX-4200. This must be a driver
problem.
